Didn’t WOD today. I’ve been thinking about a day off since the triathlon, and once I realized this was day 12 without rest, I cashed in.
I’m a little disappointed that I had such a hard time giving myself permission to rest. I’ve read a lot about the importance of rest and recovery for health and wellness. Each time I found myself questioning my decision today, I reminded myself that many programs, including Whole30, advocate for rest and recovery.
One interesting observation is that while I feel great all day long, I do really crash at the end of the day (about the time I log in to write this blog!). I always attribute this to my 5:15 WOD, but I feel as tired today as any other, though I do seem to be having a hard time getting caught up on sleep this week.
No use sleeping on the keyboard.
