Day 107

A friend gave me quite a compliment last night. “You’re an athlete,” he said. It sunk in.

Having spent my life waiting to be picked for the team, hoping to see a moment of play on junior varsity, saying that I did it for “the exercise”, and joining every non-athletic club from here to there, I certainly didn’t grow up thinking I was an athlete.

Tomorrow I will do my first triathlon. Today I rode a bike to and from the gym and RX’d a hero WOD. With all guys. Am I an athlete? Well, I figure I’m closer than ever.

The way I see it, I’m a good example that anyone can be an athlete. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

WOD:

Lumberjack 20

27:40

20 deadlifts 185#

400 m run

20 swings 53#

400 m run

20 85# Overhead squats

400 m run

20 burpees

400 m run

20 pullups

400 m run

20 20″ box jumps

400 m run

20 dumb bell squat cleans 30#

400  m run

Nutrition:

PWO SFH shake

3 eggs, kale, 1/2 avocado

Chicken sausage, 1/2 sweet potato, Broccoli

Repeat of lunch for dinner

Coconut cream

Triathlon results tomorrow!
